Midland Area High School Skating Team Kicks Off 2007-2008 Season


2007-2008 High School Team

The Midland Area high school figure skating team recently opened their fourth competition season. The team competes in District 5 and is split into two teams, an A team and B team and trains at the Midland Figure Skating Club. The Michigan High School Skating conference is made up of 60 schools throughout the state of Michigan and is divided into districts. The team has competed at two competitions over the past month. To date, Team A has a second place overall finish while the B Team has skated to a third place finish overall within their district.

Also, in individual events, Kathleen Revard and Danielle Morabito skated to a first place finish in longest element events. The team is coached by Sherra Voelker and Jessica Gullen (not pictured) and team advisor is Joy Buchanan. The team will be traveling to Kalamazoo in mid-February to compete at their last regular competition and attempt to qualify for the state championships.
