Learn to Skate Group Lessons
 

Registrations are welcomed after the session has started - 
costs will be pro-rated for the weeks skated

Basic Skills - Learn to Skate
The fundamentals of ALL ice skating sports. Designed for K-12 students and Adults, the eight  levels of this program introduce the fundamental moves – forward skating, backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, turns, and mohawks. Upon completion of the 6 levels, skaters will have the basic knowledge of the sport enabling them to advance to more specialized areas of skating such as Free Skating (jumps, spins, footwork) and Moves-in-the-Field (patterns of turns, edges and power stroking)
SnowPlow Sam
Specifically designed for children, ages 4 & 5, to become comfortable on the ice, while developing preliminary coordination and strength necessary to maneuver on the ice. This course develops balance, body movement and working with others. Children are encouraged to play and progress at their own level. Helmets are mandatory for all SnowPlow Sam skaters.
Hockey Learn to Skate
The Hockey curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. In 4 badge levels, skaters will learn to maneuver faster and be more agile on the ice. All elements will be taught without a stick or puck as proper skating techniques are the primary focus of the levels. Skaters will learn the necessary fundamentals to be successful in game situations. Prerequisite:  SnowPlow Sam or coach approval
Off-Ice Training/Conditioning
An off-ice training/conditioning class for Learn to Skate skaters - consisting of 30 minute group lessons following on-ice group lessons.  This class id designed to help skaters develop strength, balance and flexibility.  Techniques used include light conditioning, balance, basic jumping skills and elementary yoga.

Before ice registrations are accepted, each parent and skater must read the Ice Rules (revised August 2008) and sign the registration form to verify that they have read, understand and will abide by these rules of conduct.

SPRING 2011 CLUB ICE REGISTRATION AND CALENDAR


Attached please find the registration form for the Spring 2011 club ice session which will run from Sunday, April 17th - Thursday, June 9th. Please refer to the calendar for scheduling items of note. The due date for completed forms and payment is Friday, April 8th. Families with ice fees in excess of $350 can make two payments as noted on the form. Second payments will be due May 13th.

The Spring Exhibition will be held at 6pm on Sunday, May 15th.  Please note the special club ice schedule for this day – we will have two 60 minute sessions followed by a 50 minute session to accommodate an ice make for the Exhibition at 5:50pm.  Pricing for these Sunday sessions was adjusted accordingly.

Please note that ice fees will be in effect as follows:  60 minute session - $20 and 50 minute session - $17.  This was necessary given the higher hourly ice rates the arena will be charging its user groups
