About Us

The Midland Figure Skating Club (MFSC) was founded September 1, 1955, to meet the needs of figure skaters in the Midland-Bay City-Saginaw area.  From our earliest days skating on one outdoor artificial rink, to our current year-round Learn to Skate USA and Club Programs, we've been driven by three specific goals:

  • Provide top-notch skating programs for skaters of all ages and all levels of skill, making sure that all participants feel welcome, valued, recognized, and informed, and have opportunities to have a fun and safe experience with skating.

  • To host events USFS-sanctioned competitions and events to bring the wider world of Figure Skating to the Tri-Cities area, and to represent our area at events and competitions in Michigan and across the country

  • To make the sport of Figure Skating accessible to as many people as possible.

MFSC hosts Learn to Skate USA Classes, private on-ice lessons, and individual or group off-ice training with Club professionals.

The Club hosts several exhibitions each year featuring our club skaters and special guests, including a Spring Show, end-of-Summer Exhibition, and a Holiday Spectacular.   The club's annual Skate Midland event in November draws hundreds of competitors from across the state and region as part of the Michigan Basic Skills Series.
